I ran across the new release by Alison Goldfrapp this week and wanted to share. It’s electronica, fused pop goodness. I didn’t skip any of the tracks. Some tracks are stronger than others, but given what this release is, it’s all worth listening to. Enjoy it here:
Balanced. Thoughtful. True.

Night Tapes, a feel good way to start your Wednesday!
It’s hump day. What better way to start it off than with a dreamy, dream pop band like Night Tapes? This found it’s way into my playlist the other day. They are chill, and pretty good overall, check them out on youtube here:

Shin Godzilla re-release this week
If you’re a Godzilla fan, you will be happy to know Shin Godzilla is being re-release in theaters in the US this week. This is by far one of the most visually stunning Godzilla releases I’ve ever seen. Check it out if you get a chance.

Doomed in the Doom Dark Ages!
I grabbed this game last weekend on sale, installed the 100GB install, and tried to fire it up. Well, I was met with an intro screen that was less than spectacular. The performance was horrible on my Nvidia card. So, I spent half an hour updating my drivers, then…tadaa, just like magic, the game came to life. What came to life though, felt mundane, repetitive, unrewarding, unpolished, and generally unpleasant. This, seems highly unusual, at least, so I thought. Then, I hit the Steam forums and saw, a lack of activity for this game, that was astounding. It was like standing in an empty room. This is very uncharacteristic of any Doom game I have ever played. As a matter of fact, even Doom3 which wasn’t that well received probably would have been more active than this. Buyer beware, this game may not be what the hype machine has been hyping it up to be!

Good YouTube channel for Steam game discounts
The channel in the video below is good for keeping up with game discounts. He covers a lot of high quality resellers too. The video below from yesterday turned me on to a new reseller called Fanatical. Honestly surprised at how much more discounted the games are on the reseller sites than directly from Steam. If you haven’t checked out Fanatical, do so, they have mystery bundles and they are fun. From what I can tell, all the games so far, are compatible with Steam. Check out Fanatical here: https://www.fanatical.com .

What’s safer this or the poisons people spray everywhere?
Just look at the spectacular symmetry, the artfully precise orb web and the pure beauty! One of the benefits of a long hot summer this year has been the presence of a lot of food for individuals like this specimen, the European Garden Spider:

I mean, not only are these extremely beautiful and purpose driven life forms, they are a massive benefit to us too!!! How? These are the most efficient pest exterminators on the planet, and they are far safer for us than using poisons to kill things we don’t want around, and ourselves, in the process. If one needs to be scared of something, it should be those poisons. I for one am grateful for these little creatures and wish them all the best doing what they do best!
