For the last 8 years I’ve been cultivating and promoting the growth of a pretty little perennial called milkweed. I’ve been doing it to attract one of the most beautiful things in the world. Monarchs. Last year was not a good year. But this year, I’m seeing some action now. Check this pic out, there’s more hanging out where this one is. Looking like we might be seeing some success this year!

Looks like it’s going to be a hot and hazy day in the big D today!
About three weeks ago it started. A familiar sound this time of the year. A lucky sound. The sound of some higher pitched squeaks, just loud enough to be noticable, and low enough to indicate a special kind of bird has just come into this world. As the days passed I began to hear a few more of them and they became more prominent.
Then, about a week later they began to circulate around the yard in cyclic movement, finding their way from tree to tree. Learning, to fly and communicate.
It doesn’t happen every year, since nature can be cruel, but when it does happen, it’s fun to witness. Sometimes 1, sometimes 4, sometimes none. I’ve been blessed to bear witness to a few new generations of these feathery flying wonders. See if you can make them out in the pics below!

Been playing this off and on for a few weeks now on steam, what a wild ride. It’s a FPS, with zombies, supersoldiers, monsters, etc. etc. It’s a mash up between Doom, Crysis, FarCry, Wolfenstein. If you use Linux Mint as your daily driver, you have most likely enjoyed an overall bug free experience. However, some of you may have noticed recently, that the last update of Firefox has produced an annoying issue. The windowing mode changes from dark mode to light mode, even if you are using the dark mode theme.
Some people have brought this up as a bug in the Cinnamon github repo. Fortunately, there is a workaround, see here for more info: https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon/issues/12994 .
